Highland Walk Golf Course at Victoria Bryant State Park holds 1st Annual Open House for Golfers, Media and Guests

One of Georgia's State Park golf courses held a Open House for members of the media, golfers, guests and others on May 17th in Royston, GA. Hidden Gems as they are called is exactly what Highland Walk Golf Course is. Nestled in the foothills of Georgia's mountain lies one of the top golf courses in the State. Highland Walk golf course is one of eight State Park golf courses located throughout Georgia. With elevated views that you can see for miles, Highland Walk offers a true test of your golfing ability.

The Open Houses are happening at all of the State Parks Golf Courses as a way of showcasing exactly what the course has to offer. Victoria Bryant State Park is also one of Georgia's best kept secrets and is great for the entire family.

Highland Walk

Course Manager Bill Schuster comments on the day. "We were anticipating a decent turnout for our inaugural Open House, but when almost 100 guests attended, it definitely exceeded my expectations. Players from all over Northeastern Georgia, bordering South Carolina and as far south as Atlanta participated in the event. They got a first hand experience of our challenging course, its many facilities and wide ranging programs. The positive feedback I received from each player at the end of the outing was overwhelming. It was strong testimony to the kind of course conditions and customer service we offer to our patrons every day. I've had many golfers tell me that Highland Walk is the best kept secret in Northeast Georgia. I know that's meant to be a compliment, but we definitely don't want to be a secret. We have plenty of capacity for more daily fee players, annual members and group events. This Open House was great because it showcased absolutely everything we have to offer. We asked everyone who attended to tell 5-10 others about us."

Shuster continued, "Many organizations were instrumental with the success of this event. Specifically, WKLY and WLHR radio stations both provided live broadcasts and promoted our programs. Cobra PUMA Golf, Coca Cola, Bar-H Restaurant and the Georgia Golf Trail were vital sponsors and provided strong support. And most importantly, our fine staff was tremendous, especially the super 12 dedicated volunteers who did all the preparation work and made the day run as smoothly as possible."

"Coincidentally, the Open House happened to fall during the same week as Highland Walk's 15th year anniversary. Without a doubt, this day will be a highlight in our history and have a positive impact on our programs and activity going forward. We're planning on doing another one next year."
