The Georgia Golf Trail simultaneously launches when Georgia springs to the forefront of the golf world during the month of April, beginning with golf’s first Major, The Masters, April 11-14; followed by the CHAMPIONS TOUR Greater Gwinnett Championship presented by Mitsubishi Electric, April 19-21; the CHAMPIONS TOUR then heads to the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf, hosted by the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort in Spa, a Georgia Golf Trail member course, April 26-28.  The PGA TOUR then remains in Georgia with two WEB.COM TOUR events, the first in Valdosta at another Georgia Golf Trail course, Kinderlou Forest Golf Club, hosting The South Georgia Classic presented by First State Bank and Trust Company and the South Georgia Medical Center April 22 – 28; and finally the WEB.COM TOUR Stadion Classic at the University of Georgia Golf Course, April 29-May 5.

Key to The Georgia Golf Trail’s initial awareness program upon the April 1 launch will be promoting The Georgia Golf Trail to potential golfers across the Eastern United States and Canada.  This will be done through cooperative marketing efforts with participating Trail members, a strong on-line and email marketing push, radio promotions in strategic markets, existence in the Georgia State Welcome Centers, and presence at international trade shows aimed at attracting large groups of international travelers to Georgia.

Georgia is rich in golf history.  From the mountains to the plains and on to the Atlantic Coast, we want to show the world how much the Peach State has to offer the golfer and the traveler. Whether it is for business or a weekend get-away, any tourist will find the sights and sounds of Georgia to be a top travel destination.

Come play golf where the legendary golfer Bobby Jones lived and played.  The reputation of golf history found in Georgia is unlike anything the golfer would find anywhere else.
