Emory University partners with East Lake Golf Club
to host inaugural
Bobby Jones Legacy Golf Tournament

emory universityeast lake golf clubEmory University and East Lake Golf Club are pleased to host the first Emory University Bobby Jones Legacy Golf Tournament on March 18, 2017.

Organized by Emory’s James T. Laney School of Graduate Studies, the tournament is a fundraiser that celebrates the legacy of legendary golfer Bobby Jones. While success on the golf course made Jones famous, it was his friendship, integrity, and leadership that had lasting effects on those who knew him. Today, that legacy lives on at Emory through the Bobby Jones Program, a robust exchange program of scholars and fellows, an ethics program that prepares graduate students for responsible leadership, and fellowships in biomedical engineering that advance the future of healthcare today.  Tournament proceeds will support the Bobby Jones Program.

Prior to tee-off, tournament participants will enjoy lunch at the Clubhouse and can participate in a golf clinic with members of the Emory Golf Team. Following play, guests and players will enjoy cocktails with Emory President Claire E. Sterk and conclude the day with a spring reception.

The partnership of Emory University and the renowned East Lake Golf Club for this event is a natural fit. East Lake Golf Club is the home course of Bobby Jones and is the oldest golf course in the city of Atlanta. Since 2004, it has also been the home of the TOUR Championship. With a long tradition of philanthropy, East Lake Golf Club is an important member of the Atlanta community, supporting the East Lake Foundation with more than $20 million to date, and partnering with local institutions such as Emory University to support transformative research and scholarship.
